Quite possibly earning a place under the definition of 'underrated' in the dictionary, my portable cd player was dominated by the debut from Utah's The Used for the entirety of the summer. Loaded with a strong, but emotional tracklisting, listening to the record on repeat proved to be the closest to time travel I've gotten thusfar.

Hot Off The Press- Lil' Wayne Gives 'Top 10' On Letterman
He probably hit some shake. Bad judgement, dude.

Okay. I admit, initially I was skeptical that the rest of this record was going to sound like 'Listen To Your Friends'. How could it? Their last effort, Coming Home had a couple of fun tracks and then dropped off. New Found Glory killed the entire record this time.

Most b-side records in general tend to be an earful of garbage thrown together until the disc is full (Reel Big Fish- Monkeys For Nothin', Chimps For Free), but fortunately there are some exceptions (Zebrahead- Waste Of MFZB). The Lost Tapes (2002) is full of tracks just as hot as album cuts that don't all run together. If you like Nas, this is a must.

Recommendation- From First To Last- 'Dear Diary: My Teenage Angst Has A Body Count'
Wow. Forgot about this post-hardcore/screamo masterpiece. This record reminds me of driving around in Joe Vigdal's truck in freshman year. Definitely pull this from your collection and give it a spin. If you don't have it: see below.

Your quintessential John Hughes family heartwarmer, John Candy doesn't disappoint or break from the mold in Uncle Buck. Also starring MacCully Culkin before he started coke (That's actually just an assumption, see: Drew Barrymore) and Jean Louisa Kelly who I only recognize because my mom would watch her on the less than entertaining CBS sitcom 'Yes, Dear'. Uncle Buck brought laughs appropriate for all ages and jokes with undertones for more mature audiences. At the end of the movie, you'll realize that your mother or father's brother is either as cool as our protagonist or just creepy.

Notes:
1. 1st verse is incredible.
2. James DeWees from 'Reggie And The Full Effect' and 'The Get Up Kids' played keys on this entire record and toured with NFG for a bit too.

Writing a non-biased review for a film about professional wrestling and directed by the infamous Darren Aronofsky (Requiem For A Dream, π) could prove to be tough, but endure my attempt. I suppose you'd have to ask an older wash-up professional wrestler, but the story throughout the film presents an entertaining and believable depiction of life for someone who's foot fits that boot. Everyone delivers a good performance, (Yes, even Evan Rachel Wood post-Marilyn Manson) and on a more personal note (going back to my love for professional wrestling), the film does a great job of showing what goes on backstage before a professional wrestling match. This could turn out to be my favorite film of the year.
*****
Kind-of interesting, but surprisingly not any funnier if you're high when you watch it. Also, the supporting cast of sub-par comedians and they're equally sub-par jokes left me asking myself every few minutes, 'Why am I still watching this?'. An upside would be you do get to see a lot of different strains of weed.
